FAQs
Do you sew all toys yourself?
Yes! At Toysbypolina, every step of the process in creating the handmade toys is personally handled by Polina. From the initial design to the finished product, each toy passes through her hands. Polina meticulously sews, stuffs them with fiber, embroiders details, packs them, and ships them out. This hands-on approach ensures every toy is made with care and attention to detail. Toysbypolina goal is to create high-quality, unique toys for children to enjoy.
What fabric do you use for your soft toys?
Polina primarily uses Minky fabric for her soft toys. Minky fabric is a type of microfiber fabric that is highly regarded for its incredibly soft and plush texture. It is made from 100% polyester, which not only adds to its luxurious feel but also ensures durability and longevity. Minky fabric is a popular choice for creating cuddly and huggable toys that are gentle to the touch and provide a comforting experience for children.
How long doest it take to make a toy?
The time it takes to create a toy can vary depending on various factors such as the complexity of the design, size, and level of detail. For instance, a baby toy typically takes around 3 hours to sew, while a mom toy may take approximately 4 hours.

Caring for handmade toy
To ensure the longevity and beauty of your handmade toy, we recommend avoiding the use of a washing machine, as it is a delicate handmade item. Instead, we suggest hand washing the toy using gentle methods. For general cleaning, we recommend spot cleaning the toy by gently dabbing the fabric with a mild detergent or soap. You can use a soft cloth or sponge to carefully remove any dirt or stains from the surface of the toy. After cleaning, it is important to allow the toy to air dry completely before giving it to your little one.
Can I sell toys made with your patterns?
You are not allowed to sell toys made with toysbypolina patterns (except "Turtle Toy", "Bunny & Overalls", "Sailboat Toy"). Sewing patterns are intended for personal use only, to create toys for yourself and your little ones. Commercial use of the pattern is strictly prohibited. Thank you for understanding and respecting the terms of use.
What pattern do you recommend for beginners?
Definitely the Sailboat pattern! It was specifically designed and created with beginners in mind. The Sailboat pattern provides a great starting point for those who want to learn to sew toys. It offers a simpler design and construction process, making it more manageable for beginners to follow.
Once you have gained some experience with the Sailboat pattern, we recommend trying the Bunny & Overalls pattern and the Elephant pattern. These patterns build upon the skills learned from the Sailboat pattern and introduce new elements and techniques.
As you progress in your sewing journey, you can then explore the plush toy patterns. Working with plush fabric can be a bit more challenging than cotton, so it's beneficial to have some experience under your belt before diving into those patterns.
